Restoring the Mental Edge in Life and Sports
PSALM 34:4
-
Listening and learning is the foundation of my counseling approach. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the model I use to help clients identify tools and pursue growth with intention.
The Process
-
Confidence
It all starts by learning how to focus on your goals.
Confidence is a muscle that has to be activated and engaged. JMH offers strategies to overcome self-doubt, set achievable goals, and celebrate successes.
Confidence encourages us to take risks, learn from mistakes, and grow. Building confidence takes self-reflection, practice, and leaving our comfort zones. Value your strengths and let confidence lead you.
-
Control
Sources of control stem from internal and external drives. Clearly labeling what is and is not in our control helps build a gameplan for reframing and growth.
Control is a tool that can be used to help us manage difficult scenarios. While we cannot predict what life throws our way, we can always choose how to respond.
-
Consistency
Tools used to develop consistency are based on mindfulness and visualization. Muscle memory is key to outlining a clear plan driven by discipline.
Consistency is formed in small, direct steps that tests patience and resolve. At JMH, a proactive approach drives the sessions to help build and maintain routine.
What is JMH?
JMH Counseling & Sports Psychology started in 2016 with a vision to build a counseling practice to help clients access and develop mental growth. With a unique background as a Licensed Professional Counselor and former NCAA athlete, I help clients kickstart healing and restore their confidence, control, and consistency.
